One of our new BYW friends, Cathy, sent in today’s question: “What mistakes are there to avoid in writing?”
It’s a useful question. Thanks, Cathy.
If you have your own questions, feel free to send an email (or just hit reply).
Are there rules? Is there a right and wrong of writing?

BUT…
There are some common slipups I see new writers make that hinder their success. (I’ve made most of these mistakes myself, too!)
Luckily, I’ve summed them up several times over the past 5 years:

3 Easy-to-Fix Mistakes That Hinder Your Writing Success (2 minute read!)
3 Mistakes to Avoid When Writing About Relationships
I’d recommend reading that last one if you ever talk about yourself or other real people in your pieces. (So pretty much most nonfiction writing!)
