Normally, writing is the only thing I spend hours and hours on.
I can be a write-a-holic.
But this year, as I’m studying, I’ve done something else far more:
READ.
I didn’t think I’d get time for leisure reading around all my reading for study—or want to. But I’ve worked my way through several books this year.
14 to be exact.
Reading is a writer’s food.
Without it, our writing becomes malnourished.
If you’re page is looking dry and uninteresting, it’s probably time to read instead.
Want to check out what I’m reading? I review them all on Goodreads.
Born a Crime and Lessons in Chemistry are two of my favourites (but not the only two!)
And I love hearing your recommendations! Let me know in the comments.
(Only 15 days left until I finish my first course and then I promise I’ll answer more of the writing questions sent my way.)

Finished reading Hillbilly Elegy which was alright but needed something...more wordy, more descriptive.
My current book does just that.
The Sunken Land Begins to Rise Again by M.John Harrison.
Weird and intriguing.
