This week I decided it was time to stop procrastinating and create my own publication on Medium. I wanted a place where I could collect together articles that inspire new writers to create, publish, and earn. So, here it is: Inspired Writer!
I’ll share some of the articles with you here in this newsletter, so keep an eye on your inbox.
To start with though, let’s talk about the topic for today: support. I was incredibly fortunate to have two fantastic mentors in the early days of my writing—one for fiction (I won a nationwide short story competition that allowed me a year long mentorship with an established author) and the other for non-fiction.
Support for new writers
Getting started in a writing career can be challenging and sometimes all you need is someone to give their feedback and encourage you in the right direction.
My mentors helped me believe in my writing and showed me ways to lift it to the next level.
That’s why I’ve decided, as a part of my new Medium publication, to take one new writer every few weeks and work with them to develop a non-fiction story, essay, or article. If you think you’d be interested, take a read through the Write with Us page to see how to apply.
Support for publishing
If you are looking to publish a book—I’ve got you covered. I’ve collected together 14 fantastic articles about self-publishing, traditional publishing, and finding an agent.
