Hey friend,
I know, I know.
I’ve been going on about personal essays a bit this month. *Blah blah*
But I’ve got a good reason for all my blabbing.
(There’s still a couple of days to get your contest entry in by the way!)
Before we get to the reason, I want to answer a common question.
“When are you launching an Advanced Personal Essay course?”
You’ve been asking for a while, actually. I’m slow on the uptake—sorry!
Which brings me to the reason
The reason I encourage you to write personal essays is this:
Every month, I sell several personal essays to magazines. Just yesterday, I sold one for $300USD.
That’s where I’d like to see you headed too. Are you ready for that?
Editors want your personal essays—crazy right? They pay us when we’d do it for free!
But there’s no point creating a course that doesn’t help you deliver, so that’s where I need you: I always like to run a Beta course first.
You get to help shape it, and bonus—it’s way cheaper than the final one.
Many of you have already taken my Introductory Personal Essay course.
The intro course is mostly self-paced with optional feedback, but the advanced one would be a little different.
If you’re serious about improving your personal essays:
Here’s the course details
The Beta course would run for 8 weeks starting August.
Each week, you’ll receive a video lesson, readings, and an assignment to complete.
I’ll give you individual feedback on each assignment.
By the end of the course, you’ll have two personal essays ready to send off and wow editors with!
The assignments are important, so make sure you have time to write.
The whole course will be geared around developing deeper, more thoughtful, more relevant personal essays.
A heads up, though—it’s not easy.
It can be a real challenge to write a deeper personal essay.
Who’s feeling up for the challenge?
The Beta will run for $139 each month. ($278USD total)
Reply to this and let me know “I’m in!”

P.P.S. When you hit reply, let me know a bit about you too!
