For those of you considering entering the Jotter First Chapter Awards, I just got some great news from the Cofounder.
As I’m on the writing council, for the contest I can give out an extra 3 months free Jotter subscription ON TOP OF the 6 months with 60% off earlyadopters incentive.
Use my writer’s council code: WriteWithKelly
There are also going to be other incentives coming for the first 1000 writers and readers who want to be part of the Jotter community. This is a chance to be part of something a bit different.
And maybe win some prizes!
A misfit writers’ revolution maybe?
As the cofounder, John Myler, was saying today in a meeting with our little writing council, “it’s a place for misfits”. They even have a Jotter staff member whose role is Head Literary Misfit!
With less than 1% of people getting published through the traditional publishing routes, I think “misfits” would be a word that might describe a few of us!
Some fantastic stories are missed out on because they don’t fit the Big-5s “trends” of the month or because the author doesn’t quite fit the marketing box they want.
I love the idea of taking control of our own publishing experience in a way that’s less confusing than self-publishing has been. And less up-hill slog-like!
Stuck uploading your story?
I had one writer say they got a bit stuck with the ePub upload.
It’s a bit of an unusual format for some of us. You can usually find it under “Save As..” in your google docs or word.
If you’re having trouble, they’ve told me to pass on that you can email them and they’ll give you a hand (or even do it for you!)
Like, what?! I’ve never seen a platform that’s this writer focused and friendly! They’re small and new and keen to hear from us. It’s a great time to jump in, get your work up, and play your part in creating the kind of writing/reading space you want to see online.
And of course, let me know if you’ve got any questions and I’ll get answers.
They have some growing pains going on. When I put in my email address to signup, I received an autoresponder to verify my email address, but in that email there isn't a valid URL under the "Verify" button.
I got to create an account by getting to the site through the Android app. The "Jotter" code worked for the 60% off, but not "WriteWithKelly" (I put that in instead of "Jotter" and it said it was invalid. How do I get those extra 3 months?
Change 1: verified email address through signing up and creating an account, but now trying to log in, says I am inputting an incorrect user name (whether I use my email address or the user name I created when I set up my account.
You can check it out here https://www.jotterrevolution.com/#/ or in your App store if you just want to read.

Okay, good to know. They are new so there are definitely things they're still working on. I'll let them know and see what they can do.
So, John is onto it. He's sending you an email and has fixed the code and the URL. Thanks for letting me know!
